The North Carolina Department of Transportation intends to improve N.C. 127 from Cloniger Mill Road in Catawba County to Richey Road in Alexander County. This work will include roadway widening, new turn lanes, a new bridge over Lake Hickory, and intersection improvements. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
