The North Carolina Department of Transportation intends to widen Fire Tower Road to Portertown Road, as well as widen Portertown Road to 10th Street. This work will install additional travel lanes and a raised median along this roadway in Pitt County. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
