The North Carolina Department of Transportation intends improve US 64 (East 11th Street) from North Glenn Avenue to East of US 421 in Siler City. This work in Chatham County will upgrade the median as well as sidewalks and other bicycle and pedestrian upgrades. This work will include roadway widening, new turn lanes, a new bridge over Lake Hickory, and intersection improvements. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
