The South Carolina Department of Transportation intends to extend the Mark Clark Expressway from West Ashley to the Johns Island and the James Island areas. This new roadway seeks to increase capacity, improve safety, and enhance mobility to the I-526 corridor in Charleston County. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
