The Georgia Department of Transportation intends to improve SR 17 from Washington Bypass to North of Vinson Road/Norman Road. This work will also include the construction of a bridge over Rock Creek and will occur in Wilkes County. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
