The South Carolina Department of Transportation intends to improve the interchanges between Interstate 20, Interstate 26, and Interstate 126 as well as adjacent segments of each. The Carolina Crossroads project will widen and improve these interstate segments starting at Colonial Life Boulevard at I-26, extending north to Harbison Boulevard. Also improving I-20 from the Broad River to US 378. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
