The North Carolina Department of Transportation intends to widen N.C. 73 along a 14-mile segment stretching from N.C. 115 (Old Statesville Road) to U.S. 29 (Concord Parkway North). This project will occur between Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties and will be implemented in phases. Work for this project will include the acquisition of new right of way and a variety of easements imposed on adjacent landowners through the eminent domain process.
